Educational goals
The mission of college
The mission of the college is to cultivate professionals of Blue Industry, which is defined as:
Blue: To develop students with the management skills and capabilities of shipping, distribution, information, leisure and marine policy of marine-related industries, and to utilize marine resources and improve the performance of marine management.
Industry: It includes shipping, international logistics, fishery products distribution and marine leisure industries
Based on the mission, four departments and one independent master degree program were established in the college, including ：Shipping and Transportation Management, Department of Business Computing, Logistic Management, Marine Leisure Management, and Institute of Marine Affairs and Business Management. Further, the college also established five undergraduate programs for students to learn second specialty, including electronic commerce, marine affaire, aquatic sport, marine information and shipping logistics.
The mission of departments
The missions of the departments in the college are as follows:
Shipping and Transportation Management
The teaching and research focus on ocean transportation management, air transportation management and shipping logistics. The mission is to cultivate professionals of international logistics industry, including shipping companies, shipping agents, shipping forwarders, international logistics centers, air transportation companies, port companies and import/export divisions of manufacturers etc.
Department of Business Computing
The teaching and research focus on programming, systems analysis and designation, network management, server management, database management, WWW object-oriented analysis and application, electronic commerce, network security etc. The mission is to cultivate professionals for the information divisions of enterprises, especially for the marine management industry, including shipping, distribution, marine leisure and costal management.
Supply Chain Management
The teaching and research focus on integrating business flow, material flow, information flow and cash flow to shorten flow process of international trade from procurement to delivery by intermodal transportation. The mission is to cultivate professionals for distribution industry including fishery products distribution, chain stores, distribution centers, express delivery, logistic divisions of manufacturers etc.
Marine Leisure management
The teachings and research focus on leisure management, aquatic leisure resources and aquatic sports. The mission is to cultivate professionals for marine leisure industry, including aquatic leisure, athletics club, yacht, athletics, hotel, traveling agency, leisure center, aquatic sport and athletic healthy & consulting.
Institute of Marine Affairs and Business Management
The teaching and research focus on marine policy and the management of marine biotechnology industry. The mission is to cultivate professionals for costal and catchment management and marine biotechnology management.
